Yes, the Madoff chronicles continue. Everyone has a fascination with how the mighty fall, and Bernard Madoff is something of a modern day Icarus – flying too close to the sun, only to have his wax wings melt and end up in… a North Carolina prison. Yep, that’s as close as we’re going to get to Greek myths these days. But still, what’s his jail cell like? Enquiring minds want to know.
According to current legal papers and an interview session from a lawyer representing some of the victims, Joseph Cotchett – his closest friends are a mafia boss and a spy, and as Cotchett claims, his “bunk mates” are a drug dealer and a child molester.
How long ‘til the movie rights are secured on this sucker? Wait, it gets better.
That mafia boss is Carmine Persico of the Colombo crime family, whose nickname is “the snake” and the spy in question is a gentleman named Jonathan Pollard, who was busted for selling military secrets to Israel. Who’s gonna play Bernie on the big screen? That’s the real question. We still don’t know who the child molester is, but doesn’t have quite the same Grishamesque heft does it? Oh well.
